Etsy Weekend Deals

Did you know Etsy has a blog?

Well it should come as no surprise since everybody now a days has one (even little ole me).

Well one the great things about the etsy blog The Storque is that each week it has a feature called weekend deals for sellers offering discounts and free shipping and handling. When you get a chance check it out or better yet subscribe to the Storque on your reader.

Etsy Shop Highlight - DippyLulu

I stumbled across this seller DippyLulu and I absolutely love this seller's sense of humor. Its in your face yet playful and I love her takes on the famous "Keep Calm" poster.

I am wondering if folks would be offended if I kept her matches in my bathroom ....

Mums

As the weather turns to fall I am planning on outfitting the house with autumn decor. I am working on a new wreath for the door in a nice golden brown (perfect for fall) and am excited about a trip to Lowe's this weekend to get mums and pumpkins for the doorstep and deck (how lame does that sound but I am really excited about it). I think mums are highly underrated, just like carnations, and are really a great choice in flowers. Its too bad we only cart out the hardy mums once a year because the other varieties can be really beautiful.

Iphone Application

While on my honeymoon I discovered that there is an Iphone application for etsy. (This may be old news to some of you.) Now I can surf etsy from anywhere. The only drawback is that you can not make direct purchases through the application due to etsy's policy on releasing information to 3rd parties. (This may be a blessing in disguise! Giving me the ability to shop etsy 24/7 could be dangerous) However, you can add listings and shops to your favs as long as you have made those public.

Happy etsy surfing!

Our Wedding

Our wedding was everything we imagined and more. I can not gush enough about how it was one of the greatest days of my life. I was surrounded by the people who mean the most to me while I begun the newest journey of my life with a wonderful handsome loving man.

I will share with you the teaser pick from our photographer Edmund Moon of Daily Thousand Words. And yes this is etsy related because the gardenia that is adorning my hair was purchased from the seller dkdesignshawaii (her prices have since gone up since I purchased mine). The flower was so light weight that I forgot it was in my hair. And a funny note about the flower is that when I saw my bridesmaid for the first time she was wearing two of the same ones in her hair. (Though she and I on the surface are different in our styles we often wind up buying a lot of the same items.)

Once more of the professional pics come in I will share with you the other etsy items that went into making my wedding day so special.

Please note: FROM 8/10-10/31, DK DESIGNS WILL DONATE $5.00 FOR EVERY GARDENIA HAIR FLOWER PURCHASED DURING THIS TIME TO SPIRIT JUMP (WWW.SPIRITJUMP.ORG). PROCEEDS WILL GO TO HELP LIFT THE SPIRITS OF CANCER PATIENTS!

Wedding

Well the big day is this Saturday. The future hubby and I have been engaged for 14 months and it is now coming to an end. Wow how time flies. As to be expected posting will be on hold while I am away on our honeymoon. As appropriate I want to leave you with a wedding themed post.

See you in a week when I will be a Mrs ! YEAH!

Serving tray

I have been looking at serving trays for quite some time now, trying to find the perfect one for our den in the basement. Maybe some of these are candidates.

Reusable lunch sacks

Just got through doing the iron on transfers of our logo to our cotton canvas tote out of town bags, and these caught my fancy on etsy. I think they are soooo cute that I might make some for myself. Problem is I work full time from home and really don't have the need for a lunch tote. But never the less maybe my soon to be husband or mother would love one.

Ensemble

I am one week out from my wedding. Yeah!!! So as to be expected posting will be light (as if it hasn't been already. Bad blogger. Wedding projects has really eaten into my etsy time)

Well I was able to do a little window shopping today and here is the ensemble that I am lusting after. I am wondering if it would transition into fall. But a crisp white shirt is always in season. And I want the shirt paired with dark denim just like in the photo.
